Sarah Peterson, MD

Dr. Sarah Peterson attended Yale University for her undergraduate degree. She received her medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine and also completed her obstetrics and gynecology internship and residency at Virginia Commonwealth University. Dr. Peterson is a junior fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society.

Dr. Peterson enjoys caring for women of all ages, with a particular interest in pediatric and adolescent gynecology. She is an advocate for low-intervention childbirth and is supportive of patients wishing to have a vaginal birth after having a cesarean section. She is trained in minimally invasive surgical techniques, including both laparoscopic and robotic surgery.

She has dedicated much of her time to community and international outreach, including volunteering locally at the Fan Free Clinic and the CrossOver Clinic, volunteering for Unite for Sight in rural Thailand, as well as providing obstetric and gynecologic services at Tenwek Hospital in Kenya. In her spare time, Dr. Peterson enjoys hiking, yoga, running, gardening, reading, traveling and most of all spending time with family and friends.
