Dana Taylor, RNC, MS, CNM, WHNP-BC
A native of North Carolina, Dana worked as a labor and delivery nurse for fifteen years before returning to school to attend Old Dominion University as an undergraduate and then graduating with honors from Virginia Commonwealth University with her master’s in nursing/ women’s health nurse practitioner. While working as a nurse practitioner, she completed a post-master’s degree in nurse midwifery at Shenandoah University. Dana is board certified as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner and Certified Nurse Midwife and has additional training in advanced fetal monitoring and colposcopy.
Dana enjoys all areas of caring for women, whether it is providing care to a young woman for her first well woman exam, helping a woman transition into menopause, or caring for and educating a woman and her family during pregnancy and childbirth. She finds it an inspiring and awesome privilege to be with a woman during the birth of her child. Dana finds her work a humbling experience to provide safe, high-touch/low-tech care for women during one of the most important times in her life. She looks forward to using her expertise to provide quality midwifery care to women and their families in Richmond.
On her days off, Dana enjoys time with her husband and their “little old lady” Boston terrier, Pepsi. She also loves tending to her flower garden, watching the birds that visit her backyard, and reading.
