Julie Weathers, CNM
Julie has been practicing as a certified nurse midwife since 2004. She graduated summa cum laude from West Virginia University in 1992 with a bachelor of science in nursing. Early in her career, Julie found obstetrics and gynecology to be her calling. She worked as a labor and delivery nurse in a small community hospital until she enrolled in Frontier School of Midwifery and Family Nursing. She completed the program in 2004 and has been practicing full-scope midwifery ever since. Julie is a board certified nurse midwife who is a member of the American College of Nurse Midwives.
Julie loves attending birth, and assisting women who are delivering their babies is a rewarding experience every single time. When asked, “How many babies have you delivered?” Julie will always answer, “Two,” (her two sons). She has participated in well over 1,000 births but is adamant that she does not deliver babies—moms do! Attending birth is only a portion of what Julie has to offer women. Midwifery care is centered on listening to women whether they present for a first time gynecology visit or want to discuss the ever-changing needs women face. Julie is happy to assist in a respectful manner to collaboratively develop a plan that best suits each mother.
When not working, Julie can be found at home with her family. She enjoys quality time with her husband and two sons. Anyone who gets to know her will tell you not to forget Maxx and Maggie, her Saint Bernard’s.
