Anne Vierela, CNM
Ms. Vierela is a certified nurse-midwife. She received her Bachelor of Science in nursing from the Medical College of Virginia/Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia, and Master of Nursing from Case Western Reserve University. She received her midwifery training at Frontier School of Midwifery and Family Nursing.
Ms. Vierela has extensive midwifery experience including gynecology and primary care. Prior to joining Bon Secours, she worked at a private practice in coastal South Carolina, where most of the OB patients were seen in centering groups. She has had the privilege of attending more than 2,000 births. Interestingly, Ms. Vierela spent the first six years of her career working as a labor and delivery nurse at Bon Secours St. Mary’s Hospital in Richmond, Virginia. She describes herself as passionate about the field she works in and says she appreciates a collaborative approach toward maternity care. She grew up in the Richmond area and is excited to return home. She is the proud mother of three daughters and five grandchildren. In her spare time she enjoys reading, biking and Bikram hot yoga.
